Section ID A string that uniquely identifies the section. This is a required field.
Earth resistivity Average earth resistivity in Ohm-meters at the section location. See APPENDIX C: EARTH RESISTIVITY for typical values.
1 or 3-core cable If the 3-phase circuit in this section is built from a single 3-core cable, select Three-core. Otherwise select Single-Core.
Position X and Y coordinates of cables in this circuit. Y is zero at ground level and increase as the cable is buried deeper. X is zero at the origin of the circuit.
Sheath connection and transposition (Single-core cable circuit only) Select Single Point Bounded if the three sheaths are bonded and grounded at only one point along the cable circuit; Select Solidly Bonded if the three sheaths are bonded and grounded together at each end of the circuit; Select Cross Bonded if the sheaths are cross-bonded. See 2.5 GLOSSARY for connection diagrams. These are methods available to reduce sheath voltages and circulating currents. Single point bonding is used to reduce sheath voltage and circulating current for short cable circuits. Cross bonding is used to eliminate sheath circulating current for longer cable circuits, while holding standing voltages to permissible levels. The circuit must have roughly equal lengths of minor sections in groups of three. Three minor sections constitute a major section. At each end of a major section, the three sheaths are connected together and grounded. At the two intermediate joints of minor sections, the sheaths are electrically transposed. The grounding resistance of single point bonding, solid bonding and cross bonding are assumed to be zero in the calculations.
Pipe/Armor Solidly Grounded (3-core cable circuit only) Check this box if the pipe or armor is grounded at both ends of the circuit
Shield Solidly Grounded (3-core cable circuit only) Check box if the shield is grounded at both ends of the circuit.
