The Tools | Import Line Constants Data command lets you import data from a line construction file or a line data file that was created by the ASPEN Line Constants Program.
If you elected to import the data from a line construction file with extension .lcn, the following will happen:
•Wire types in the lcn file will be imported into the Line Database.
•Cable types in the lcn file will be imported into the Line Database.
•Overhead constructions in the lcn file will be imported into the Line Database as overhead structures.
•Cable circuits in the lcn file will be imported into the Line Database as lines with a single cable section of one mile (or km) long.
If you elected to import the data from a line data file with extension .lnn, the following will happen:
•The line data file is linked to a line construction file with .lcn extension. The data in the linked .lcn file will be imported as described above.
•The overhead lines in the lnn file will be imported into the Line Database as lines. The line sections that make up the lines will be imported into the Line Database as line sections.
•The underground lines in the lnn file will be imported into the Line Database as lines, each with a single cable section.
