Name Name of the cable type. The name is limited to 40 characters. This name must be unique.
Outside radius The cable’s overall radius.
Permeability The relative permeability of the conductor and sheath is equal to 1.0 because they are typically made of non-magnetic metal such as cooper or aluminum. Refer to APPENDIX B: CABLE DATA for more information on permeability. If cable does not have one or more component such as armor, serving or oversheath, leave the corresponding permeability field blank.
Inner and outer radii Enter zero for the inner radius if the conductor is solid. If cable does not have armor, leave armor radius fields blank.
Resistivity The unit of resistivity is microOhm-centimeters for both English and metric libraries. Refer to APPENDIX B: CABLE DATA for more information on resistivity. If cable does not have armor, leave armor resistivity field blank.
Semiconductor layer Enter thickness of the semiconductor layer. Enter zero if cable does not have these layers.
Center distance Distance between centers of the 3-core cable and phase conductor
Theta
The center of the 3-core cable is the pole of the polar coordinates. Theta
is the angle in degree.
Note: Modifying the cable properties will affect line constants results of all lines in the database that utilize that cable type.
